Oh my, this was delicious and satisfying for me and all the more because it's a free download... a well-done fantasy in the tradition of some of my favorite YA authors -- chock full of wit and repartee, adventure, intrigue, and romance (but, of course, with some spicy man on man bits).
The reader is plopped down in the middle of the story with a crucial event on the very first page. Something is not right in the kingdom of Cymria and the Prophecy is the key to figuring out what that is. Cymria and Volghast are neighboring countries at peace but that could all change. The plot thickens in Cymria where brothers Prince Cadogan (Cod) and Prince Einion work with the King’s Fool, Bach, to solve the riddle.
This is a great adventure in a well drawn world with clever characters and a sweet, slow burning romance. Some distractions: frequent editing/proofing errors, some odd language, misspelled words, and occasional overused phrases (“the small man” comes to mind) but all-in-all, a lot of fun and recommended! I'd rate it 3.5 but am rounding up cause it was fun.
I'm hoping there's more to come with this one.
