2.5 starsWell this is an odd short. It’s from Jacob’s POV which is nice. Vic is supposed to have attended a New Year’s party with him but was called away on a case. Jacob doesn’t seem particularly happy here, well, he’s without Vic but he’s also put out with his friends at the party and he leaves early. Alone at home he falls asleep before midnight. Vic does show up to give him a New Year’s kiss and saves the day somewhat. Somehow the whole thing has a melancholy feel to me which is ok given that this is how many people feel during the holidays but it is unusual for a ‘holiday’ romance story.
